- The CHA Resident Coordinator Program
Provides full-time CHA Resident Coordinators to public senior housing facilities throughout the city. Resident Coordinators ensure that residents in senior public housing have all the services and benefits they are eligible to receive, and make arrangements to ensure residents live comfortably.
- Case Management Services
A program provided by Chicago’s Department on Aging that provides seniors with legal advice, household chores, adult daycare, home-delivered meals, housing relocation assistance, and many more services.
- Mayor Daley’s Life Long Learner’s Program
Offers seniors weekly continuing education classes through the Senior Centers located throughout the Chicagoland area. The Life Long Learner’s Program offers classes such as dance, art appreciation, child development, and foreign language. Seniors who have obtained a high school diploma or GED may use Life Long Learner’s classes to work towards basic certification. Those who do not have a diploma or GED may contact Mayor Daley’s Life Long Learner’s Program for tutoring when working towards a GED. Classes are free to seniors who are over 60 years of age.
- The Central West Regional Center is a senior center that offers classes, parties, trips, fitness programs, and other recreational activities. Please call the center for more information about the regional center.

- Mayor Daley’s Senior Shuttle Service
Provides groups of seniors with transportation to nearby Aldi, Dominick’s, or Jewel food stores. Please contact the Department on Aging for more information on shuttle services.
- The Department on Aging’s Transportation Service
Offers eligible seniors door-to-door transportation service at reduced rates, transportation to seniors for daily errands, and medical transportation for seniors who need to receive life-sustaining treatments.

- Mayor Daley’s Senior Well-Being Task Force
An association of volunteers and community agencies that provide services for and advocate on behalf of seniors in Chicago. If you or any other senior you know is at risk, please dial 311 to be connected to the Well-Being Task Force.
- Mayor Daley’s Senior Save
This program is designed to help residents who are 60 and over obtain valuable merchant discounts from restaurants and retail shops all over Chicago. To obtain an application for a membership card please call the Department of Aging or fill out the application online. Email: seniorsave@cityofchicago.org
- Mail Order Pharmacy Refill
A program that allows seniors to receive their prescriptions through the mail instead of picking them up at the pharmacy. p: (800) 458-0501
- SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program)
SHIP offers free one-on-one counseling to seniors on subjects such as Medicare, Medigap, supplementary insurance coverage, prescription drug programs, prescription drug cards, and resolving health insurance billing disputes. Please call SHIP’s North Milwaukee Avenue office to schedule and appointment with a counselor near the 1st Ward.

- Benefits Checkup
A service offered through the City of Chicago’s Department of Aging where Chicago residents, ages 60 and over, can find out about state and federal programs such as energy assistance, financial assistance, housing, transportation, legal assistance programs, and more that are offered to seniors. - PIE (Pension Information Effort Program)
A program sponsored by the Chicago Department on Aging that helps inform seniors of pension benefits they may be eligible for. Call PIE counselors if you have questions about an employer who is not fulfilling their pension obligations, has moved, closed, been bought out by another company, or if you need help understanding your pension documents.
- CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy)
CAPS is a partnership with the Chicago Police Department and residents to reduce crime. Certain CAPS officers meet and discuss issues specifically with seniors and at senior facilities.

- The Ombudsman Program
A program designed to protect the rights of seniors who are living in nursing homes, assisted living, shared housing, supported living, and other long-term care facilities. This nonprofit organization that provides a number of services to senior citizens in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.
- Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA)
This program offers the H-Rail program to low-income seniors who are 60 years of age or older. H-Rail provides qualifying seniors with free minor home repairs assistance.

The Cook County Assessor’s Office offers an assessment freeze exemption that allows seniors to slow the appreciating value of their property while surrounding properties continue to appreciate at a faster rate.
